Protesters gathered in Heraklion, Crete, on Thursday (August 28) to protest the arrival of the Israeli cruise ship Crown Iris. The mobilization, organized by organizations and collectives in solidarity with the Palestinian people, aimed to condemn Israeli policy in Gaza.

The ship carries approximately 1,600 passengers. Strong police forces were deployed at the port to prevent incidents similar to those that occurred in Agios Nikolaos in July when the same ship had anchored there.

The protesters, responding to the call of the "Assembly of Solidarity with the Palestinian People," expressed their solidarity and called for support for the Palestinian cause.
