Igoumenitsa: Ships collide in port due to broken mooring lines

An incident occurred in the port of Igoumenitsa on Saturday afternoon when two mooring lines broke on a passenger-car ferry. This caused the stern of the ship to move and collide with another passenger-car ferry that was moored next to it.

Immediately, a team from the Coast Guard arrived at the scene and found limited material damage to both ships. The Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa prohibited the departure of both ships until the necessary certificates of seaworthiness were submitted.

According to authorities, there were no injuries and no traces of marine pollution were found.
