Igoumenitsa: Ship collision in port due to strong winds

A collision occurred between two passenger-car ferry ships in the port of Igoumenitsa, due to strong winds blowing in the area.

According to initial reports, a passenger ship suffered a breakage of two mooring lines, resulting in a collision with another ship that was also docked.

A team from the Port Authority rushed to the scene and found minor material damage to both ships. Their departure was temporarily prohibited until the necessary seaworthiness certificates are submitted.

No injuries were reported, nor was marine pollution observed.
