Mount Hymettus Fire: Under Control in 20 Minutes β Two Outbreaks

A fire broke out at the foot of Mount Hymettus on Monday afternoon (July 28), mobilizing strong firefighting forces. The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes.
The fire department is investigating the causes of the fire, considering the possibility that it started from a Zografou municipality depot or from a beekeeper's smoker.
The mayor of Papagou - Cholargos, Ξlias Apostolopoulos, reported that there were two outbreaks, one in the University campus and one on Zisimopoulou Street in Papagou.
A message was sent from 112 to the residents of the area, while 110 firefighters, 11 aircraft and 8 helicopters operated to extinguish the fire.
Exits on Attiki Odos and Katechaki remained closed for a short time, but have since been reopened to traffic.
