Fire in Kouvaras, Attica: Aerial Response Underway

A fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in Kouvaras, Attica, in the Velatouri area, below the Merenta hill. Initial reports indicate that the fire is burning through plots of land.

42 firefighters with 18 vehicles, volunteers, 1 airplane, and 7 helicopters, one of which is coordinating the operation, are operating in the area. Assistance is also being provided by water tankers from the Attica Region.

The Fire Department announced the mobilization via Twitter.
