Keratea Fire: Elderly Man Found Charred to Death

An elderly man was found charred to death in the Togani area of Keratea, during firefighting operations. His body was discovered in a brick house where he permanently resided.
According to the Press Representative of the Fire Department, Vasilis Vathrakogiannis, 190 firefighters with 7 teams of forest commandos and 44 vehicles are operating in the Manoutso Keratea area. Volunteers, water trucks, and machinery from the Attica Region are also assisting. 11 aircraft and 13 helicopters have been deployed for aerial firefighting.
Six messages were issued by 112 for the evacuation of residents. The Hellenic Police has carried out 15 evacuations, while the Fire Department has evacuated 5 people. EKAV forces with five ambulances and one mobile medical unit are present in the area.
Winds in the Keratea area are reaching 7 Beaufort. Damage assessment will take place after the fire is extinguished.
