Vehicle Fire on Ymittos Ring Road: Delays on Attiki Odos

A vehicle fire broke out on the Ymittos Ring Road, causing delays on Attiki Odos on Wednesday afternoon. The fire started at the exit for Karea, resulting in the temporary closure of the left lane.

Attiki Odos personnel extinguished the fire and removed the vehicle, restoring traffic flow in the left lane. However, delays are still being observed at various points:

• Towards Elefsina: 5-10 minutes at the exit for Piraeus, 5-10 minutes from Plakentias to Kifissias, 5-10 minutes from Kantza to Marathonos.
• Towards Airport: 10-15 minutes from Metamorfosi to Penteli.
• 15-20 minutes at the exit for Karea on the Ymittos Ring Road.

Traffic is expected to gradually return to normal.
