Florina: Scuffle over the Holy Cross in Dendias' Presence

A scuffle broke out in Florina during the Epiphany water blessing ceremony, in the presence of the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias.

According to videos circulating online, faithful who dived into the Sakouleva river to catch the Holy Cross, clashed, disagreeing over who possessed it. After a brief tension, the faithful kissed the Cross.

The Metropolitan of Florina, Prespes and Eordaia, Mr. Ireneos, performed the water blessing.
