A rescue operation is underway on Mount Olympus for a hiker who sustained a serious knee injury. 40-year-old Spyros from Thessaloniki reported that the accident occurred at 11:45 AM on Monday and he is currently at the Spilios Agapitos refuge at 2,100 meters.

The hiker stated that authorities refused to send a helicopter, leaving him stranded for hours. Firefighters and members of EMAK have arrived at the refuge to transport him by stretcher. It is estimated that it will take approximately 8 hours to reach Prionia, where an ambulance will pick him up.
