Athens Ring Road Special Permit Now Available on Gov.gr Wallet

Starting today, October 20th, holders of ring road permits can issue the new special permit for the 2025-2026 period via Gov.gr and add it to their Gov.gr Wallet.

The permit allows free circulation within the Athens Ring Road and can be issued through the "Citizen and Everyday Life" section or directly via daktylios.gov.gr, by entering the vehicle registration number and the owner's VAT number.

The permit has a unique verification code and an advanced electronic seal, and its authenticity can be verified via the docs.gov.gr/validate application.

Vehicle categories eligible for the permit:

Factory-made purely electric
Factory-made natural gas or LPG
Factory-made hybrid electric
Euro 6 category with CO2 emissions below 120 g/km (before 2021) or 145 g/km (from 2021 onwards)

Printed ring road permits for the periods 2023-2024 or 2024-2025 are automatically renewed for 2025-2026, but the digital permit must be renewed.

The ring's validity is:

Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 20:00
Friday: 07:00 - 15:00
