A 65-kilometer section of the Patras-Pyrgos highway, from Pyrgos to Kato Alissos near Patras, has opened to traffic. The remaining 10-kilometer section is expected to be completed by the end of November.

The Olympia Odos now connects Patras to Pyrgos in 45 minutes and Athens to Pyrgos in 2 hours and 45 minutes. With the new section, Olympia Odos becomes the third largest highway in Greece, with a total length of 277 km.

The toll system is now in effect for the Kyllini - Pyrgos zone, while the Mintilogli - Kyllini zone will be free of charge until construction is completed, which is estimated to be in November 2025. The Patras - Pyrgos highway is the first fully automated highway in Greece that will operate exclusively with electronic tolls.
