Athens Municipality: The Team Cleaning Crime Scenes and Extreme Neglect

A specialized team from the Municipality of Athens undertakes the cleaning of locations where crimes or sudden deaths have occurred, or that are in a state of extreme neglect. The Special Operations Department, under the Athens Municipality Cleaning Directorate, intervenes after the police and in collaboration with health authorities and the prosecutor's office.

The team, consisting of five people, faces difficult conditions, wearing special suits and masks for protection. Last year, they executed 340 prosecutor's orders.
