Tree Falls in Agia Irini Square, Athens: Two Injured

A tree fell in Agia Irini Square, in the center of Athens, on Saturday morning, injuring two people.
A woman was taken to NIMITS Hospital, while a man was slightly injured and did not need to be hospitalized.
According to the Municipality of Athens, the tree fell due to strong winds that hit the city. Tree falls were also reported on Theotokopoulou and Knossou streets, with material damage to a parked vehicle on Theotokopoulou Street.
The Municipality of Athens has mobilized crews to remove the trees and urges citizens to avoid parking under large trees and to follow the instructions of Civil Protection. For emergencies, citizens can contact 1595.
