Seventeen dogs are living in dire conditions in the surroundings of the Armored Training Center (KETTH) in Avlona. According to reports, the animals are malnourished and not receiving the necessary care.

Lawyer Elena Florou, who has taken on the case, emphasizes that this is a case of passive abuse of stray animals. She states that animal-loving soldiers and KETTH personnel are not allowed to offer food or water to the animals, and there are reports of threats of imprisonment for those who do.

Ms. Florou has contacted the KETTH administration and the responsible municipal authority, but without an immediate solution. A visit from a veterinary team is expected, and a request has been made to allow volunteers to enter the premises to care for and remove the animals.

The lawyer emphasizes that the case concerns the culture and conscience of all, as well as the responsibilities of the authorities towards animals.
