Attica: High Temperatures Even After Midnight

The heatwave continues to affect Attica, with temperatures remaining high even after midnight. According to meteo.gr, the temperature exceeds 33°C in many areas of the basin at 00:30.

The intense nighttime heat is due to the strong thermal load of the day and the phenomenon of the urban heat island, which traps heat in densely built-up areas. These conditions create thermal stress, especially for vulnerable groups, making adequate hydration and staying in a cool environment necessary during the night.

The meteorological stations recorded the high temperatures in the early hours of July 25th.
