Reckless Drivers: Traffic Violations and Disregard for Fines

Despite the stricter traffic laws and increased penalties, many drivers continue to violate traffic rules, disregarding the dangers and fines.

According to a MEGA report, at least five violations were recorded in just a few minutes on a road leading to Poseidonos Avenue. Red light violations are frequent, now punishable by a €700 fine, license suspension for 60 days, and plate removal for 20 days.

In addition, the number of drivers under the influence of alcohol is increasing. In 24 hours, 91 drivers were found to be driving under the influence, and three arrests were made for driving with a blood alcohol content above 0.60 mg/l.

Another serious problem is parking on sidewalks, which is punishable by a €150 fine and a 20-day driver's license suspension.
