Emergency Drill at Athens International Airport

Athens International Airport conducted a large-scale emergency drill, testing its Airport Emergency Plan. The drill scenario was 'Aircraft Accident at the Airport' and involved various agencies, including airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Fire Department, the Police, health services, and volunteers.
According to the AIA announcement, the exercise took place on January 27 and aimed to check the operational readiness and coordination of the involved parties. The scenario involved the crash of an AEGEAN A320 neo aircraft during landing.
The designated emergency centers were activated and the public information process was tested. The exercise also involved EKAV, Goldair Handling, and EODASAM.
