Restoration of Fire Damage in Ancient Olympia Focus

A meeting was held between the Regional Governor and the Mayor regarding the immediate restoration of the effects of the fires in Ancient Olympia.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Ancient Olympia, Aristeidis Panagiotopoulos, the Regional Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis, the Deputy Regional Governor of Ilia, Nikos Korovesis, as well as the Deputy Mayor, Sotiris Papailiou, the Deputy Mayor of Civil Protection and Technical Services, Giorgos Linardos, and the Deputy Mayor of Agricultural Development, Konstantinos Sofianos.
The immediate needs of the affected areas were discussed, with emphasis on the damage mainly in Chelidoni and Heraklia. Reference was made to damage to infrastructure and plant capital, as well as problems recorded in water supply and irrigation networks, and in municipal and agricultural road construction.
The Region of Western Greece expressed its willingness to actively contribute to the restoration effort, pledging to utilize all available financial tools for the immediate support of those affected and the Municipality.
Mr. Panagiotopoulos thanked the Regional Governor and the Deputy Regional Governor for their cooperation and emphasized the importance of rapid mobilization.
