Bank of Greece: 9% Increase in Tourism Revenue, Over €20 Billion

The Bank of Greece (ΤτΕ) announced a 9% increase in tourism revenue for the first nine months of 2025, exceeding €20 billion. There was also a 4% increase in tourist arrivals.
Specifically, travel receipts for the period January-September 2025 amounted to €20.13 billion, up from €18.47 billion in the same period of 2024. However, in September 2025, revenues decreased to €3.42 billion, from €3.55 billion in September 2024.
Also, in September 2025, arrivals increased by 3.6%, while revenues decreased by 3.6%. The current account deficit narrowed, while the services surplus widened due to the improvement in the travel services balance.
According to the Bank of Greece, the current account deficit for the period January-September 2025 narrowed compared to 2024, due to the improvement in the goods and primary income balances.
