Tsapalos: Income Increase Possible with Tax Scale Changes

The Press Representative of the Ministry of Finance, Omiros Tsapalos, stated that a change in tax scales could lead to a permanent monthly increase in income for citizens. The statement was made in anticipation of the Prime Minister's speech at DETH (Thessaloniki International Fair).

Mr. Tsapalos mentioned that the financial team is focusing on tax relief for the middle class, but provisions will also be made for other social groups. The available funds amount to €1.5 billion, secured through the good performance of the budget and the reduction of tax evasion.

One of the most likely scenarios is a change in direct taxation scales. If tax scales are reduced, employees, pensioners, and freelancers will see an immediate increase in their monthly income due to the reduction in tax withholding.
