Skertsos: €732 Million Invested in Greek Startups in 2025

Minister of State Akis Skertsos reported that over €732 million was invested in more than 90 startups in Greece in 2025. In an article in the newspaper "Η Kathimerini", Mr. Skertsos emphasized the change in the Greek innovation ecosystem.
Since 2019, a cohesive set of policies has been implemented to create a friendly environment for technology companies and high-risk investments. Companies such as Dialectica, Workable, Persado, Skroutz, Blueground, Epignosis, and Hack The Box have created thousands of jobs.
Theon in defense technology, Mysten Labs in crypto/blockchain, and Beta CAE show that Greece can produce world-class technology. The acquisitions of Softomotive by Microsoft and Accusonus by Meta confirm the recognition of the Greek ecosystem by global Big Tech.
The goal is for the knowledge economy to reach at least 5% of GDP, increasing productivity and quality jobs. The institutional prerequisites for the necessary leap are being created, with the opening of higher education and the creation of a Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
The aim is for Greece to unite capital, talent, and institutions for a knowledge economy with depth and an international role.
