Athens Stock Exchange Declines Amid Profit Taking

The Athens Stock Exchange experienced further losses, with the General Index falling to the 1,950-point range, marking a three-week low. Banks faced significant pressure due to profit taking, as investors absorbed gains from previous months.
In Monday's session (July 28), the General Index decreased by 18.6 points or -0.94%, closing at 1,950.12 points. Despite the decline, it is heading towards its 9th consecutive month of gains.
The introduction of Metlen to the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the announcements of company financial results are in focus. EXAE is publishing its H1 – Q2 results today, followed by announcements from Metlen, Piraeus Bank, Motodynamics, Eurobank, National Bank, Titan, MIG, Alpha Bank, and Optima Bank.
On Wall Street, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq reached new all-time highs, while European stock exchanges recorded declines despite the US-EU tariff agreement.
