EOOPY: Fraudulent Prescriptions Worth €12 Million Uncovered

An extensive network of fraudulent prescriptions, amounting to approximately €12 million, has been uncovered by audits conducted by the Pharmaceutical Directorate of EOOPY. 30 doctors and 62 pharmacies are under investigation.

According to the announcement, fines totaling €98,500 have already been imposed. EOOPY has been informed of three cases filed by the Economic Police, and new audits will begin immediately on ten more doctors and 80 pharmacies.

The Governor of EOOPY, Theano Karpodini, referred to the excellent cooperation of the Organization's executives and the reforms promoted for the benefit of patients and transparency.

In addition, the actions of the various directorates of EOOPY were presented, such as the improvement of the health benefits package and the digitization of services.
