Mitsotakis: Greece Takes a Leading Role in Energy

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis informed the President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, about Greece's upgrade to a leading player in the energy sector. He stated that Greece is becoming a gateway for American natural gas to Europe, including Ukraine.

Initiatives are also underway to explore natural gas deposits in Greece. Within the next 18 months, an exploratory drilling will take place west of Corfu, the first in 40 years. Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that this development strengthens the country's geopolitical and energy security.

He also mentioned measures to support citizens' income, tax reform, support for low-income pensioners, and interventions for the housing crisis.

Mr. Tasoulas noted that Greece's geopolitical upgrade in energy matters is linked to improving the daily lives of citizens, as the country stabilizes as an energy provider in Europe.
