Lyft Completes Acquisition of Freenow

Lyft has announced the completion of its acquisition of Freenow, creating one of the world's leading mobility applications.

According to the company, the acquisition will double Lyft's potential market, exceeding 300 billion personal vehicle trips annually.

Lyft CEO David Risher stated that the acquisition is not only about growing the company but also about serving and connecting people around the world.

Freenow CEO Thomas Zimmermann emphasized that with Lyft's platform and resources, they will have the opportunity to innovate faster and offer better services.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Lyft app has had 4.6 million openings in Freenow markets, while the Freenow app has had 1.2 million openings in Lyft markets.
