Hermès: Advisor's Death Leaves €14 Billion Mystery Unsolved

Eric Freymond, former advisor to an Hermès heir, has died, leaving a mystery unsolved regarding the fate of shares worth €14 billion.
Freymond worked for 24 years as the asset manager for Nicolas Puech, a descendant of Hermès, before a legal dispute in Geneva. Puech claimed Freymond was involved in the disappearance of 6 million shares of Hermès International SCA.
A court ruling found no evidence of mismanagement by Freymond. Yannis Sakas expressed his sadness at Freymond's death.
A decade ago, Bernard Arnault of LVMH revealed he had secretly accumulated a stake in Hermès. In 2023, Puech accused Freymond of mismanaging his holdings.
Freymond founded Semper Gestion in 2001 and later opened Espace Muraille, a contemporary art exhibition space in Geneva.
