ELSTAT: 4.5% Increase in Household Disposable Income in 2024

ELSTAT announced that the disposable income of households and non-profit institutions increased by 4.5% in 2024, reaching €158.6 billion from €151.7 billion in 2023.
At the same time, final consumption expenditure increased by 4.6%, reaching €162.6 billion in 2024 from €155.4 billion in 2023. The savings rate was -2.5% compared to -2.4% in 2023.
Investments by non-financial corporations amounted to 25.2% in 2024, compared to 25.1% in 2023. Imports increased to €112.8 billion, while exports amounted to €99.7 billion, with the external balance showing a deficit of €13.1 billion.
The overall economy showed a net borrowing of €13 billion in relation to foreign countries, compared to €12.6 billion in 2023.
