Greece Seeks 15% Export Tariff Adjustments with EU and US

Greece is seeking improvements to the new EU-US agreement on 15% export tariffs. The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, stated that Greece will pursue exemptions or tariff reductions for Greek products, particularly from the food and beverage sector.
Additionally, Greece will advocate for the removal of "intra-European tariffs," referring to regulatory and administrative barriers within the EU that hinder competition. Pierrakakis cited studies indicating that these distortions cost up to 110% in the services sector.
Greece will raise the issue of completing the Single Market at the upcoming Eurogroup and ECOFIN meetings, while also seeking to strengthen exports to emerging markets such as India.
