Year-Round Tourism: Leading Destinations in Greece

Year-round tourism is becoming a reality for some regions in Greece. Major urban centers, regional cities with conference profiles, and destinations with multi-themed tourism products are showing resilience to seasonality.
Athens: Hotels recorded a marginally positive sign in 2025, strengthening the city as a year-round destination. The Athens-Attica & Argosaronic Hotel Association noted an increase in performance indicators, mainly outside the high season.
Thessaloniki: The tourist season has been extended to ten months, with increased connectivity through flights. Key markets include the USA, Turkey, Israel, Germany, and Cyprus.
Alexandroupolis: Targeted actions and planning have made Alexandroupolis a year-round tourist destination, attracting tourists mainly from Turkey and the Balkans.
Ioannina: The city relies on conference and university tourism, with tourist activity ten months a year. The airport upgrade is considered critical.
Peloponnese: Destinations such as Kalamata, Nafplio, and Corinth can enhance activity over a wider range, utilizing the multi-themed tourism product.
Indications of extension are also recorded in traditional destinations such as Crete, Rhodes and Corfu.
