Thessaloniki International Fair: Up to €2 Billion Relief Package for Middle Class

The financial team is expected to present the final plan of the relief package after mid-August, which will be announced at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), with a total cost of between 1.5 and 2 billion euros.

The aim is to strengthen the middle class, which has been significantly burdened in recent years. A key measure is the radical reform of the income tax scale, with the aim of relieving wage earners and pensioners.

The introduction of new tax rates for incomes over €20,000, the extension of the 30% tax deduction through electronic receipts, and the reduction of tax on rental income up to €12,000 are being considered.

Although the changes will take effect from 2026, they will have an immediate impact on tax withholding from January of the same year.
