Angeliki Varela: New President of the Greek National Tourism Organization

Angeliki Varela has been appointed as the new president of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), according to an announcement by the Ministry of Tourism.

Ms. Varela replaces Angela Gerekou, who served as president of GNTO for the past six years. The Ministry of Tourism expressed its gratitude to Ms. Gerekou for her contribution.

According to the announcement, Angeliki Varela has extensive experience in Greek tourism, both theoretically and operationally, having served in critical sectors of the GNTO.

Her appointment was made following a decision by the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, after a competitive process in accordance with Law 5062/2023.
