ADMIE Launches 24/7 Drone Surveillance of High-Voltage Lines

ADMIE is launching a 24/7 drone surveillance program for its high-voltage lines and pylons, initially in Attica.

The initiative is part of the digital transformation and technological upgrade of ADMIE's infrastructure, aiming to enhance security, prevent damage, and respond more quickly to critical incidents.

Drones enable accurate and rapid inspection of high-voltage lines and pylons in inaccessible areas, reducing operating costs and the time required for periodic inspections.

In the event of technical problems or malicious acts, supervisors at the Operations Center will be notified for central incident management.

The drones will be equipped with optical and thermal-infrared cameras, as well as the ability to fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

ADMIE notes that this new operational capability enhances the efficiency and reliability of the system.
