Greek Tax Authority Targets 681,000 Debtors with Seizures

The Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) is activating enforcement measures as the number of tax debtors in the red reaches 681,000. Overdue debt has exceeded ā¬112.5 billion.
Nearly 3.9 million tax identification numbers (AFM) show outstanding debts, compared to 3.77 million at the end of 2024. Of these, 2.31 million are considered debtors subject to collection measures, while 1.63 million have already experienced seizures or attachments.
The increase in debtors is attributed to the inability to pay taxes on time and the lack of broader debt settlement options.
