«The Shawshank Redemption – Rita Hayworth» at Anesis Theater

The theatrical adaptation of the film «The Shawshank Redemption – Rita Hayworth», based on the work of Stephen King, is being staged for the first time in Greece at the Anesis Theater.

The play explores themes such as faith, dignity, and hope, with Nikos Psarras embodying the role of Andy and Dimitris Papanikolaou the role of Red. They are joined by Manos Vakousis and Giannis Bostantzoglou.

The story follows Andy, who is sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder he did not commit, and his struggle to maintain his dignity within the prison.

The direction and adaptation are signed by the Stavropoulos brothers, while a total of eleven actors participate in the performance.

The performance is expected to present a subversive finale, highlighting the power of hope.
