Upgrading 12 Student Residences Across Greece

The Ministry of Education will allocate 4.1 million euros to upgrade 12 student residences across Greece. The Minister of Education, Sofia Zacharaki, stated that this is a "generous funding" aimed at "substantial and decent student care."

Specifically, 2,758,647.38 euros will be allocated from the National Development Program for the replacement and supply of new equipment to the student residences of the Universities of Athens (Olof Palme), ASPAITE (Marousi), the National Technical University of Athens (Zografou), Rethymno, Heraklion, Ioannina, Kalamata, Patras - Koukouli, Volos, Thessaloniki (A, B, C, D), Kalamaria, and Sitia.

In addition, 779,118.21 euros will be allocated for the restoration and upgrading of the electromechanical installations of the Student Residences of Thessaloniki (FETH). Also, 609,970.71 euros will be allocated for the restoration and upgrading of the cooling and heating installations at the Student Residence of Rethymno.

The residences will acquire new beds, mattresses, libraries, wardrobes, computers, air conditioners, kitchens, and more. New fire extinguishing systems will be installed in FETH, and the electrical installations will be replaced.
