Chania: Large Cannabis Plantation in Gorge – Two Arrests

In Chania, police arrested two individuals for cultivating a large cannabis plantation in a gorge. The arrested are a 28-year-old Albanian and a 41-year-old Cretan.
According to the police, the plantation included 180 cannabis plants, up to 2 meters high, which were cultivated in two continuous areas. The accused allegedly "stole" water from a municipal water supply network for watering.
It is estimated that the accused would have gained approximately 90 kilograms of cannabis, with the expected illegal profit amounting to between 180,000 and 270,000 euros.
Also confiscated were 438 grams of raw cannabis, cultivation tools and other supplies. The 41-year-old was arrested in a tourist unit, where cartridges and mobile phones were found.
The detainees are being led to the competent prosecutor's office.
