Chalandri: 47-Year-Old's Murder Confession – 'She Slandered Me'

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Chalandri for the murder of a 47-year-old woman. The crime took place on Roumpesi Street.
According to police, the perpetrator confessed to killing the woman because she had 'slandered' him. He claimed, 'For six months, I couldn't sleep at night. She had slandered me to all my acquaintances, even the priest at the soup kitchen.'
Reportedly, the perpetrator and victim met in January at a church soup kitchen. In March, the 47-year-old had reported to the police that the 28-year-old was stalking her.
In a statement, the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) stated that 'the 28-year-old had been advised by a police department regarding civil disputes between them, without any ex officio offenses against her being reported during the process. Furthermore, no relationship or cohabitation was established between them.'
Police are investigating the case.
