UK: Police Officer Convicted of Stealing Underwear During House Search

A police officer in the UK has been sentenced to four months in prison after admitting to stealing underwear from a woman's home during a search. Marcin Zielinski, 27, from the Hertfordshire police force, confessed to the theft, which took place on September 12, 2024.

Security camera footage captured Zielinski searching the woman's personal belongings and taking underwear from a dresser. He then placed them in his pocket before leaving the room.

Hertfordshire Police spokesperson Jenna Telford expressed disappointment at Zielinski's actions, stating that his "criminal behavior damages the reputation of the police and is a fundamental betrayal of the public and the values ​​that the police service stands for."

Zielinski resigned from the police force in November 2024 while under investigation.
