Vorizia: Baptism of Victim's Children Before Funeral

Unspeakable tragedy shakes Vorizia, Heraklion, where the family of the 39-year-old victim of the bloody shootout is experiencing unbearable pain. The man left behind five minor children, three of whom remain unbaptized.
According to religious tradition, if a parent dies before the baptism of their children, the funeral cannot be performed before the sacrament. Thus, in an atmosphere of grief and crushing sorrow, the 3 children of the 39-year-old are expected to be baptized urgently today, Saturday, in order for his funeral to take place tomorrow.
Police forces are on heightened alert to ensure order and security during the ceremonies, as the atmosphere in the village remains tense. It remains unknown where the funeral of the 56-year-old woman, who also lost her life in the same bloody clash, will take place.
As night falls, Vorizia resembles a ghost village. Strong police forces guard the two neighborhoods to prevent any new tension, while investigations continue to locate possible accomplices of the perpetrators. Two of the injured are hospitalized under guard with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
