Volos: Coast Guard Officer Arrested for Indecent Acts and Bribery

A senior Coast Guard officer has been arrested in Volos, facing charges of indecent acts against two minors and bribery. According to the Internal Affairs Division of the Security Forces of Northern Greece, the 58-year-old allegedly received 5,000 euros to avoid inspecting a ship.

The Internal Affairs service's announcement states that the officer is accused of bribery, dereliction of duty, and incitement to dereliction of duty. Another Coast Guard officer is also involved in the case.

The arrested officer was led to the Volos Prosecutor and given time to testify next Tuesday. He also faces charges of sexual acts with a minor for payment, completed and attempted, repeatedly and continuously, while a private individual is an accessory to the crime.
