Volos: Police Statement on Murder - Perpetrator Hospitalized in Psychiatric Clinic

The Hellenic Police (ELAS) has issued a statement regarding the murder of a 36-year-old woman in Volos. According to the statement, her 40-year-old husband, who is wanted for the crime, had been hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic in June 2025 by order of the prosecutor.
The ELAS statement reads: "In the early hours of today, 22-08-2025, a 36-year-old foreign woman was found fatally injured at the entrance of an apartment building in Volos. Her 40-year-old husband is wanted in connection with the case. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Volos Sub-Directorate of Crime Prosecution and Investigation, which has ordered an autopsy. The investigation so far has not revealed any history of domestic violence. It is noted that the 40-year-old has been charged in the past, inter alia, with criminal organization, as well as violations of drug laws, and on 28-06-2025, he had been transferred by order of the prosecutor to a clinic for psychiatric examination, where he remained for treatment."
Police are continuing their investigation to arrest the perpetrator.
