Volos: 23-Year-Old Sentenced for Knife Threat

A 23-year-old was sentenced by the Volos Misdemeanor Court to 15 months in prison and a fine of 800 euros for making a knife threat.
According to gegonotanews.gr, the incident occurred on Saturday in Volos when the 23-year-old broke into a friend's house to collect money he claimed was owed to him.
As his friend was absent, the 23-year-old threatened his brother with a hunting knife. The victim locked the perpetrator in the house, who then fled from the balcony, throwing the knife into a neighboring yard.
The accused denied the charges, claiming he was simply looking for his friend and was confused due to a recent car accident. However, the witness testified that the 23-year-old appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
The court found him guilty of illegal weapon possession. The sentence was converted to 10 euros per day, with suspensive effect due to appeal.
