Veria: Suspect Detained in Connection with Attack on 24-Year-Old

A man has been detained in Veria as a suspect in the attack on a 24-year-old woman who was found severely beaten in an apartment building entrance on Wednesday.

According to reports, the detained man was the last person to communicate with the woman. Police are investigating whether he met with her before she was injured. The 24-year-old's mobile phone has been transferred to forensic laboratories for analysis.

EL.AS. spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou stated that police are examining all data, as the woman's personal belongings were found in her possession, ruling out the possibility of robbery.

The 24-year-old remains intubated in critical condition at Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki, with severe head injuries.
