Traffic Police Fines Scooter Riders, Arrests 12 Car Drivers

Attica Traffic Police fined scooter riders and arrested 12 car drivers during a special operation from March 26 to 30. According to ELAS, 42,867 checks were carried out and 3,849 violations were confirmed.
The checks focused on the implementation of the New KOK and the prevention of driving under the influence of alcohol. Among the violations were speeding, failure to wear a helmet, use of a mobile phone, violation of traffic lights and driving without a license.
In addition, emphasis was placed on electric scooters, with 120 checks and 21 fines for not wearing a helmet. 582 vehicles were immobilized, of which 152 were transported by crane, while 812 driving licenses and 203 vehicle licenses were revoked.
