Tragedy in Paxos: 4-year-old girl found dead in swimming pool

A 4-year-old girl was found dead in a villa's swimming pool in Paxos on Wednesday afternoon. According to reports, the child had wandered away from her parents' attention while playing in the garden of their home.

The mother immediately began searching for her with neighbors, without success. The little girl was found shortly after by the villa's cook, in a pool located 150 meters from the family's house.

The police were immediately notified and the child was taken to the island's Health Center, where she was pronounced dead. The child's mother is being held at the Paxos Police Station.

The child's family is from Albania and has been living and working on the island for years.
