Tragedy in Rodopi: 12-Year-Old Found Dead in Imeros Sea Area

A 12-year-old girl was found dead in the sea area of Imeros, Rodopi on Friday. The girl was found unconscious and transported to Komotini Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Rescue teams, including Coast Guard vessels, a helicopter, and private boats, participated in the operation to locate the child, which was coordinated by the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Center (E.K.S.E.D.).

The girl had drifted away from the shore and was wearing an inflatable life jacket when she was found. A relative notified the port authorities, leading to the start of the search and rescue operation.
