Tragedy in Exarcheia: Death of a 15-year-old French student

A 15-year-old French student died in Exarcheia after falling from the third floor of a hotel. The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. when the student fell from the balcony of his room on Solomou Street.
The 15-year-old, who was in Athens on a school trip, was taken to the hospital, where he died. Police are investigating the circumstances of the fall and have taken statements from his classmates. According to initial indications, it was an accident, as no traces of alcohol or other substances were found in the room.
The Minister of Education, Sofia Zacharaki, expressed her condolences to the French Ambassador to Athens, Laurence Auer, and to the French Minister of Education, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.
The body of the 15-year-old will undergo an autopsy to determine the exact causes of death.
