Thessaloniki: 20-Year-Old Killed – Hooliganism Suspected?

A 23-year-old has been arrested for the murder of a 20-year-old in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki. The suspect was transferred under heavy security due to fears of unrest, as he is allegedly a supporter of a rival team.
The 23-year-old voluntarily turned himself in to the police and is charged with intentional homicide and illegal possession of weapons. Two more individuals who were with the victim are also included in the case file.
The accused claims he was acting in self-defense, being attacked by five rival fans. However, the victim's family lawyer, Πάρης Σπυράτος, stated that the 23-year-old had malice aforethought.
Authorities are investigating all possibilities regarding the motive for the murder. Reports indicate that the victim was allegedly involved in a case of robberies and assault.
