Thessaloniki: 84-Year-Old Arrested with Life Sentence for Cannabis Trafficking

An 84-year-old man was arrested by police in Evosmos, Thessaloniki, on Sunday. The elderly man had been sentenced to life imprisonment for aggravated drug trafficking.
According to the police, there was an outstanding conviction against the 84-year-old by the Three-Member Court of Appeals for Felonies of Western Macedonia, which had imposed a life sentence and a fine of 100,000 euros.
The case is related to an incident in September 2024, when Kastoria police officers located a travel bag containing 30 kilograms of raw cannabis in a car driven by the 84-year-old in Polymylos, Kozani.
The arrested man is being led to the competent prosecutor for the execution of his sentence.
