Thessaloniki: Father and Son Assault Cemetery Worker

At the Evosmos Cemetery in Thessaloniki, a 48-year-old man and his 30-year-old son were arrested for assaulting a 63-year-old municipal employee during an exhumation process. According to the indictment, the son initially punched the employee, followed by both men hitting him with fists and a wooden stick.
Savvas Kalaitzidis, president of the Western Thessaloniki Cemeteries, stated that the attack occurred when the perpetrators attempted to interfere with the exhumation process. The employee was taken to Papageorgiou Hospital.
The two men face charges of aggravated bodily harm. The trial was postponed to the first week of July.
